Neither comedy nor tragedy, neither fact nor fiction. This short book tells the story of a man who has lost his way and finds solace in the wildlife around him until one day a nasty seagull wages a war against him for wrongfully killing the seagull’s life partner.
Tom stands at his bed window early one morning and witnesses a large seagull killed by a reckless driver. Tom rushes out to look at the seagull. The bird is dead. Another seagull lands beside the dead bird and begins to torment Tom, blaming him for the death of his partner. The seagull wages war against Tom and Tom must do all he can to keep at arm’s length from the frightening bird. Thus begins a poetic tale of survival and forgiveness. ‘Tom Seagull & God’s Endless Gaze’ gives the perspective of human and animal viewpoints and a glimpse of the beautiful fleeting moments of life and the violence, and at times calm moments, of death.
