FRON GOCH, Ceredigion 2011

Notes on FRON GOCH, Ceredigion 2011
Tooked away in a quiet valley between Stratta Florida and Ffair Rhos. Fron Goch is in a flagging condition. I believe the house is still used as a rest place for the farmer (there are plenty of outbuildings in agricultural use) but it's condition looks sorrowful, damp and uncared for. It sits in a lovely position with wonderful views and although very remote would suit a family.

By Linda McKnight: My great great grandmother, Elizabeth Roberts was born at Fron Goch Farm in 1837.
By Paul Williams: As a child I used to stay there with my two cousins, John and Dai in the 1960s. It was incredibly remote. We would play cowboys or war games in the surrounding hills. Planning our adventure for the day from the little shed attached to the side of the house Their father, George, carved out a rudimentary living there. He still used a horse as I recall. But had a (then ubiquitous in the area) A35 van for trips out. I thought it might still be lived in,or at least a holiday let but it's remoteness worked against it.
